There isn't a modem command to turn off call waiting, since modems don't
know about telco stuff (except for dialing a number). You have to figure
out what the code is for you and use it in the dialing sequence. The telco
should be able to give you the code. It's the same as dialing it by hand
with the atdt command:
ATDT *70,XXX-XXX-XXXX
at least in the US. My parents had a problem once with disabling call
waiting, so if you get funny messages (no dialtone) when you dial *70 by
hand, call repair. Also, it's useful to try this by hand (to make sure you
get the right responses) if you are having problems.
